When is the best time to cut a hedge?
The appropriate timing depends on the hedge species, its condition and the work required. ATS will assess this and recommend a suitable time for the work.
How much can an overgrown hedge be reduced?
This depends on the species, age and condition of the hedge. Some hedges tolerate substantial reduction, while others need to be reduced gradually to avoid permanent damage.
Can hedge cutting be carried out during bird nesting season?
Hedges must be checked for active nests before work begins. If an active nest is present, work that could damage or disturb it must be postponed until it is no longer in use.
Will you remove the hedge cuttings afterwards?
Yes. Arisings can be removed and the working area left tidy as part of the agreed work.
