COOKIES & WEBSITE TECHNOLOGIES

Cookie Policy

How the Advanced Tree Services website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control your choices.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Advanced Tree Services Limited (“ATS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.

Your cookie choices

Essential technologies operate because they are necessary for the website to function securely. Non-essential analytics are disabled unless you choose to accept them. You can change your choice using the website’s cookie controls.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can help a website work correctly, remember choices, maintain security and provide information about how the website is used.

Some cookies last only for the current browser session and are removed when you close your browser. Others remain for a set period or until you delete them. Similar technologies, such as local storage, may perform related functions.

Cookies we use

The ATS website uses a limited range of technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential operation — enabling core website functions, forms and security.
  • Cookie preferences — remembering whether you accepted or rejected non-essential technologies.
  • Security and spam prevention — protecting forms and the website from automated misuse.
  • Analytics — helping us understand website use and performance where you have provided consent.

We do not use advertising cookies and do not use website cookies to build advertising profiles about visitors.

Essential technologies

Essential technologies are required for functions such as website security, submitting forms and recording your cookie preference. Because these functions are necessary to provide the website and the choices you request, they cannot be switched off through our consent controls.

  • Cookie-consent record: remembers your selection so that the consent message does not appear on every page. The record is normally retained for up to 12 months before we ask you to confirm your choice again.
  • Form and security information: supports form submission, detects automated activity and helps protect the website. These records are generally session-based or retained only for the period required for security.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors find and use the website. This may include information about pages visited, approximate location, browser, device type and interactions with the website.

  • _ga: helps distinguish one website visitor from another. Google may set it for up to 2 years, although browsers can impose shorter limits.
  • _ga_<container-id>: helps maintain session information for our Google Analytics property. Google may set it for up to 2 years, although browsers can impose shorter limits.

Google Tag Manager is used to control the loading of website tags. It does not itself create visitor profiles, but tags deployed through it may use cookies as described above. Analytics remains disabled if you reject non-essential cookies.

Third-party services

We use selected third-party services to operate and protect the website:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager provide consent-based website measurement. Google may process information on servers outside the United Kingdom.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile helps determine whether form submissions are made by people rather than automated systems. It may process technical and interaction information and may use temporary storage or cookies where necessary for security.
  • 20i provides website-hosting infrastructure and may process technical information required to deliver and secure the website.

Further information about how personal information is handled, including international transfers and your rights, is available in our Privacy Notice.

Managing your choices

You can accept or reject non-essential technologies when the cookie message appears. You can also change your choice later using the cookie-settings control available on the website.

Your browser may also allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies through browser settings may prevent some website features or forms from working correctly. Instructions vary by browser and device.

If you delete the cookie that records your preference, the website will ask you to make a new selection on your next visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, service providers or legal obligations change. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page.
